Swimsuit season is almost here!! Start the celebration! It’s naturally our favorite time of the year, being a swimsuit company and all. With the weather warming up, it’s time to start shopping for your new swimsuit.

Now, we know shopping for a swimsuit can be a challenging task for many women—it’s stressful to get the fit, support, and coverage just right! We get it. In fact, our founder Tasha Curry created HAPARI specifically because she couldn’t find swimsuits on the market that had the coverage, fit, and features she and so many other women wanted. The good news is shopping for a swimsuit doesn’t have to be hard. In fact, it can be fun! That’s why for this week’s post, we’ve created a how-to guide to find the perfect fitting swimsuit for you. Check it out below!

5 Tips To Finding The Perfect Fit For Your Swimwear

  1. Adjustability is key. Make sure you look for a swimsuit that allows you to adjust the neckline and straps to find the perfect fit for your specific body. Everyone’s measurements are different, so the ability to adjust your suit to sit exactly where it should on your body is the first step in ensuring you find the perfectly fitting swimsuit this season. Did you know at HAPARI we prioritize adjustability in our product designs—in fact, most tops in our tankini styles can be worn in three ways: halter-top, criss-cross back, or tank style. You have the option to choose which works best for you.

  2. Quality, quality, quality. Quality is to swimwear as location is to real estate—it’s the most important thing! If you buy a cheap swimsuit, chances are it’s made from cheap fabric. The problem with cheap fabric is it’s not designed to hold up through multiple washes, active movement, or with chlorine or salt water. Finding quality, lasting fabric that’s thick and supportive and moves with your body is absolutely key to finding a great fitting swimsuit. At HAPARI, we create our swimwear from the highest quality fabrics. We work directly with our factories to ensure our product is just right. We test the linings, the strings, the fabric and mesh, etc. for durability and washability to ensure the highest quality performance.

  3. Mix and match swimwear pieces. Too often swimsuits come in one size for the top and bottom, but our bodies aren’t necessarily made that way. Instead of buying swimwear sets where the top and bottom have to be purchased together, look for options to buy the two separately. This allows you to mix and match sizing to truly create a swimsuit that fits your body just how you want. For example, you might want to buy a small top but a medium bottom. There are a myriad of variations there, but you see the point—the ability to mix and match your swimsuit sizes means you can get pieces that fit your top and bottom perfectly.

  4. Determine your coverage preference. Listen up ladies, I’m a mama with two kids so I don’t want my bottom fully exposed when I’m in a swimsuit. I’m just not comfortable wearing that—and that’s okay! If you like thong-style bottoms, rock it girl! The point is: you need to figure out what coverage level you're comfortable with and buy a suit accordingly. You’ll never feel comfortable in your swimsuit if you're wearing one that’s not aligned with your preference.

At HAPARI, we specifically offer fuller coverage swimsuits. There are a plethora of swimsuit shops that offer less coverage. Our customer, and our HAPARI community, is looking for suits that want more coverage—product features like higher necklines, full coverage bottoms, high-waisted bottoms, slimming midsection support. We know that many women don’t want to feel exposed, uncomfortable, or afraid of falling out of their swimsuits. We specifically design our tops and bottoms to offer full coverage in several on-trend and stylish prints.

  5. Prioritize support. Lastly, prioritize the level of support you need in your swimsuit. If you have a large chest, make sure your swimsuit supports you so you can be as active and as comfortable as you want. Need an extra boost? Then choose a swimsuit with the ability to add liners and inserts like HAPARI Illusions™ Inserts. Consider what type of neckline you feel comfortable in—a high-neckline, push-up style, sporty-style, halter-top, etc. There are many different options to make sure you're supported and comfortable in your suit. Make sure to try a few different options to see what you feel most comfortable in!
