Top 5 Fashion Trends for Fall 2020

With Labor Day behind us, we’re looking forward to the Fall season! Activities like football games (in some places around the country at least), pumpkin spice-everything, sweater weather, and boots; ahhh... sound like a welcome change from the high temps we’ve experienced all summer, doesn’t it? While the changing of the seasons doesn’t officially happen until the Fall Equinox on Sept 22nd this year, we’re already gearing up for all things Fall. Today’s post takes a look at the top five fashion trends for Fall 2020. Check it out below!

5. Marigold Yellow

Fall fashion often imitates the transitioning autumn colors. This year marigold yellow is the ‘it’ color of the season. Seen in numerous fall fashion lines like in relative-newcomer Christopher John Roberts’ Fall 2020 collection and the recent Bottega Veneta collection, it’s safe to say this bright, rich, and creamy yellow color is a must-have for Fall 2020. As retailers pull inspiration from these high fashion houses, keep an eye out for this new color and style to hit shelves soon!

4. Drawstring Details

The 90s are still coming back! This time the trend that’s returning is customizable drawstrings. Seen on everything from drawstring side hems on dresses and skirts to drawstring necklines and shirt sleeves, this detail helps create a unique and customizable look for all body types. We’re loving this very 90’s trend. Just add a bucket hat and some Doc Martens, and you’ve got the perfect 90’s/2020 look!

The biggest trends of the season are plaid and argyle prints. Both of these styles are modeled from traditional school uniforms, and it’s safe to say they’re back in session! Other sweater trends for 2020? Chunky ‘dad’ or ‘grandpa’ sweaters, textured sweaters, and sweaters with color-blocking.
