Can we toot our own horn here and say how much we love our new Palm Desert swimwear collection? It’s colorful, bright, patterned and comes in an array of styles. There’s a flattering and fashionable fit for everyone! (Did we mention, you can get 15% off the entire collection for a limited time using the Hapari coupon code: “SWIM15”?!)
With that in mind, we’ve come up with the top five things to do in Palm Desert - with your coordinating Hapari swimsuit packed and ready to go of course! If you live in Southern California, it’s a quick road trip to a completely different landscape, climate and pace of life. There’s nothing quite like being in the desert at night and looking up at the beautiful sky to put life in perspective. It reminds you of how we are truly connected to the world. As astrophysicist and star (pun intended) of the new show on Fox “Cosmos: A Space Odyssey”, Neil Tyson DeGrasse says,
“So that when I look up at the night sky, and I know that yes, we are a part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us.
When I reflect on that fact, I look up - many people feel small because they are small and the universe is big - but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars. There is a level of connectivity.
That's really what you want in life. You want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant, you want to feel like you are a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you. That's precisely what we are, just by being alive.”
As you can tell, Palm Desert is a magical place. If you don’t live in Southern California, it’s still a very affordable weekend trip. You can camp in nearby Joshua Tree (which is about $15 for a night) or try something like AirBnB (renting local’s places), which is a great way to make friends with local Palm Desert residents and save money. It’s a true getaway that I’m sure you will enjoy! Without any further ado, check out our list for the top five things to do in Palm Desert.
TOP FIVE THINGS TO DO IN PALM DESERT
1. Drive Pines to Palms Scenic Byway This breathtaking stretch of road follows CA 243 and CA 74 for almost 67 miles. It’s a great way to really see the unique landscape and immerse yourself in Palm Desert. Not for the faint of heart or those prone to motion sickness however, as the road is at times, extremely twisty and steep. Ultimately a beautiful view and exciting time, just take it slow and be careful. There are plenty of pull off areas to stop and enjoy the view. More info available here.

Take the whole family to this beautiful conservation and education center. It’s exciting with different wildlife from desert habitats worldwide including North America and Africa. Opening in 1988, this is one of the top performing venues in the area bringing Broadway-caliber productions to the desert. Throughout March, the smash hit musical comedy, “The Addams Family” is running. Some other great upcoming shows include: The Pink Floyd Experience, Peter and The Starcatcher, Driving Miss Daisy and Les Miserables. 5. Relax Poolside
Last and certainly not least, RELAX. That’s what makes vacations great - give yourself a little pampering and time to do absolutely nothing. Pack your favorite book or magazine, your favorite music, sunhat and lounge by the pool. You know you’re going to look fabulous in your SunStripe tankini, matching the Palm Desert vibes perfectly. Take time for yourself. You deserve it! We love splurging with a spa day at the J W Marriott or the International Lodge, and often times you have the pool to yourselves!
