It's been about a week now since we've been home from Palm Desert, California. We left Kansas City on Friday, April 7, and it was a cold, wet day. We were happy to say goodbye to the Midwest spring storms and hello to the warm desert sunshine! And though we didn’t get much sleep Thursday night, the early 6 a.m. flight was completely worth it to be checked-in and settled at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Spa and Resort and laying by the pool with a drink in hand by noon! The rest of the day, we happily relaxed, soaking up all the beauty that surrounded us. Coming from Kansas, we couldn't get over the fact that no matter which way you turned, there were mountains — not to mention all of the beautiful flowers and landscaping that intertwined and outlined the resort. We knew we were in for an amazing weekend!
Our first full day started with breakfast at the hotel, and then we decided to go into town to check out some of the local shops. As we set out walking, we quickly discovered it was hotter and farther than we had thought! We went into a local shop to get a drink and met a wonderful older couple. As we were chatting, they offered us a ride, which we graciously accepted. Imagine our surprise when we were climbing into a 1929 Rolls-Royce! They drove us around Palm Desert as we tried to take everything in — all while in the back seat of a car we never dreamed we would have the opportunity to ride in! After shopping and a few more hours relaxing at the pool, we ended our day with dining outside at the resort with a waterfall feature on one side and a fire pit on the other. A perfect evening to end a perfect day.
Sunday was our last full day in Palm Desert, so we decided to get an earlier start to do some shopping at the local market. It was a hot day, but we had a lot of fun looking at all there was to buy. Of course, we found several items that we could not leave behind, including some little trinkets for our daughter. Then, it was back to the resort for some pool time, and then another lovely dinner. I cannot say how much we enjoyed having all of this time together. It's not very often we take an entire night away from our daughter, so these few days just as couple were so magical.
Of course it was back to reality on Monday! We had to leave the resort by 1:00 p.m. So what do you do your last few hours? Hit the pool of course!! I have to say, I am so thankful to Hapari — for choosing me as their grand prize winner, and for providing my husband and me with this beautiful dream getaway vacation that we will reminisce about for years! But I also want to say thank you for the beautiful Hapari swimwear. My husband's favorite was the Black Scoop Tankini, but I also received compliments from other women on the White Desert Wave Twist Tankini and Dream Blue Straight Skirt. I can’t think of another time when I received a compliment in a swimsuit EVER! Needless to say, I am a Hapari believer! Both tankinis have straps that you can tie different ways, and the coverage is great — not too little not too much, but just right. It was the best feeling spending time at the pool with the love of my life, enjoying all the beauty around us, and knowing and feeling I looked my best. Thanks for everything Hapari!!!
