What is Bulletproof Coffee?
If one drink in the morning could help you have energy with no crash, increased mental clarity, and weight loss results due to drinking it, would you try it? Enter Bulletproof Coffee. Thousands of people have jumped on the Bulletproof train since Dave Asprey created the drink in 2009. This 400 calorie drink serves as your breakfast and is meant to be paired with a diet of clean eating. Benefits of drinking Bulletproof Coffee are curbed hunger, mental clarity, increased fat burning, and hormone support.
Recipe
The official Bulletproof Coffee recipe is made up of:
- 2 cups of upgraded coffee
- 1-2 tablespoons of ghee or grass-fed unsalted butter (we used Kerrygold brand)
- If you are new to the drink, it is recommended to start at 1 tablespoon and work up to 2
- 1-2 tablespoons of Brain Octane Oil (we used coconut oil found at Trader Joes)
- If you are new to the drink, it is recommended to start at 1 tablespoon and work up to 2
- Blend ingredients together for 20-30 seconds until frothy like a latte (we used a Nutribullet).
If you are like us, you add flavored coffee creamers with loads of sugar into your morning cup of joe. Adding in these artificial sweeteners cancel out the positive effects of the drink. The Bulletproof website is one step ahead of us and has a list of approved additions to the recipe which include cinnamon, stevia, coconut cream, coconut milk, and others.
