Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- ½ Tsp Vanilla Extract
- Orange food coloring (mix red & yellow)
- 5 ½ cups of mini marshmallows
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal
- Mini tootsie rolls
- Candy for decoration (pretzels, M&M’s, candy corn)
Directions
Melt 3 tbsp of butter in a large sauce pan on medium heat. When the butter is slightly brown, add ½ tsp vanilla extract and 5 ½ cups of marshmallows. Stir until completely melted. Add orange food coloring; a good way to make this is to mix red and yellow food coloring into a bowl before adding to the melted marshmallows. Finally, add 6 cups of crispy rice cereal. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Let cool.
Once mixture is cool, get out large cookie sheet and spray with cooking spray. Take an ice cream scoop and scoop out balls of the mixture. You may need to mold with hands to create an even ball. On a separate plate, place a few tootsie rolls, and put in the microwave for 15 seconds to soften them up. Add on top of your krispie balls. Finally, decorate however you want - feel free to add a face out of candy or frosting!
Viola! You’ve created delicious pumpkin krispie treats perfect to ring in the holiday season!
