HAPARI's DIY Sea Salt SprayEver
wondered how to achieve that flawless beach waves look even when you're miles away from the ocean? It's all about the simplest hair product ever, sea salt spray! You can find lots of sea salt sprays at your neighborhood store but why buy super expensive products when you can make your own with items in your kitchen cabinet? HAPARI's DIY Sea Salt Spray is the easiest DIY you will find all summer and will leave you with beach waves to enjoy all no matter where you are.
This recipe takes less than 5 minutes to make and only needs 6 items! Follow along to have gorgeous locks all summer long.
What you will need:
1 Spray Bottle (we found at the dollar store)
Hot Water (not quite boiling but enough to dissolve the salt)
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1/4 Teaspoon Hair Gel
Optional: Few Drops Of Essential Oils (what ever scent you love, we chose peppermint)
Instructions:
Step 1 - Place the hot water and salt inside the spay bottle. We used water than was hot but not boiling incase we spilled while trying to empty the bottle. They say beauty is pain but this recipe does not include burns so make sure the water does not burn you while trying to pour it in.
Step 2- Shake, shake, shake. Make sure the salt dissolves in the water.
Step 3- Mix the coconut oil and hair gel together then add it into your spray bottle. Depending if you have naturally oily or dry hair, use more or less of the coconut oil. The coconut oil will give you a shine but those with naturally oily hair may want to use less.
Step 4 - This spray will smell a little coco-nutty thanks to the oil but if you have a favorite scent, feel free to add a couple drops of essential oils. We added peppermint oil into our spray!
Step 5- Give it a generous shake to mix up all the ingredients.
Voila! Wasn't that easy? You now have the key to flawless and texturized beach waves all year long. Save the photo below to remember the ingredients that we used.
How to use:
This spray can be used to transform wet hair into beauty waves or used as a texturized to liven up hair that is already dry.
For wet hair: Towel try your hair so it is not soaking wet. Spray the DIY Sea Salt Spray from mid length to ends. Try to stay away from spraying this on your roots as it could add extra oil. After spraying, lean your head over and give your hair a good scrunch. Let your hair dry naturally and wait for the waves to appear. For extra curly waves you could also twist sections of your hair to form a spiral and let it naturally dry.
For dry hair: If your on day 2 of your wash (or day 3... we get it), and need an extra boost, spritz this spray through out your hair to give it more texture. You could also spray a little on your roots to liven them up.
