While we may be experiencing record heat waves across the country, in just a few short weeks Fall will be here. So, while you wait for temperatures to cool down, it’s time to start prepping for the changing of seasons—including diving into all of the recipes for Fall. This is what we’ve been waiting for all year—the return of the delicious seasonal drink that’s as basic as it is synonymous with Fall. What we don’t love? Spending over $5 a pop at Starbucks for one of these tasty treats. So, we’ve rounded up a few of our top favorite PSL recipes from our favorite online cookbooks. 4. From Scratch Chicken Tortilla Soup
Soup season is back, baby! We love making soups because they’re hearty and can be really healthy. As a bonus, they’re also super easy to make—just plop the ingredients into a crockpot and let it cook itself. One of our favorite soups for fall is a from scratch chicken tortilla soup. Our favorite recipe comes from Spend with Pennies with a close second from Emily Henderson. Add this delicious meal to your rotation this week for a delicious and hearty meal. 3. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
What’s better than a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie? Not much during the fall and winter months. We love utilizing seasonal harvest to create delicious tasty desserts—and the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie is the epitome of this. Our top two favorite recipes are: this Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookie recipe comes from Delish, we love it because the cookies come out like soft pumpkin chocolate chip cakes. For an even more gooey cookie, try undercooking these by just a few minutes. You’ll have melt-in-your-mouth, rich cookies that are unbelievably good. For a crispier cookie, we like Life Made Simple’s Crisp and Chewy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Recipe. Try these with a warm glass of milk or chamomile tea for a delicious evening treat!
2. Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Looking for a healthier snack to make? Grab some pumpkin seeds (preferably shelled), or snag a pumpkin and scoop out the seeds yourself. Boil the seeds, bake them, and then lightly season these bad boys with your preferred seasonings—try chili powder, curry powder, or garlic seasoning for a savory taste or cinnamon and sugar for a sweeter taste.
