It’s official, everyone’s favorite Starbucks drink is back! The Pumpkin Spice Latte or PSL, for those so-inclined, is Starbucks best-selling seasonal drink. There was quite the hoopla and media hype surrounding the announcement that the beloved drink would be released earlier than normal this year. Three cheers for the PSL! Right? Well, maybe wait before you start cheering. Along with the lines of customers waiting to get their lattes, numerous reports claim the drink is far from nutritious and doesn’t actually contain any pumpkin.
A recent article published by USA TODAY reports the Pumpkin Spice Latte is said to contain artificial coloring linked to potential cancer risks, in some cases high fructose corn syrup, and no actual pumpkin.
To ensure control over ingredients, we decided to share our own DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe so you can enjoy a delicious (and safe) drink this fall!
