The addiction started when my husband and I were living in Los Angeles. We lived in a small, cramped apartment that despite all its’ flaws, was located right next to a Starbucks (insert heavenly notes now). The lack of room in our apartment meant we often spilled into the cool, spacious Starbucks as a retreat from the hot, cramped apartment. And, thus, Starbucks become synonymous with home. After that, years later when we now live in a much roomier home, we both still love Starbucks.

Today, we’re sharing one of our most cherished secrets; the best picks on the Starbucks hidden menu. That’s right ladies and gents, Starbucks has an entire menu hidden from view. Iced Raspberry Latte

Created like the traditional Starbucks favorite, the Iced Raspberry Latte puts a twist on the traditional latte option. Starbucks is open about being able to add different syrup flavorings to drinks, but typically fruit-flavored additions aren’t as common. The standard vanilla, caramel, hazelnut options are the more well-known flavor options. Try adding a pump of raspberry flavoring to your next latte. Mmm!

Butterbeer Frappuccino

Are you a HP nerd? If you didn’t get that reference, it’s safe to assume you, indeed, are not. If you did - Harry Potter fans rejoice! As a self-proclaimed, and very openly proud-of-it, Harry Potter nerd, a Butterbeer Frappuccino is the best thing since sliced bread. Try sipping one of these Cold-Busting Teas from Starbucks to beat the heat. ‘The Cold Buster’ aka ‘The Medicine Ball’ combines a powerful punch of antioxidants that work as a cold remedy. Tell your barista you’d like a Venti Cup w/ a bag of Jade Citrus Mint and a bag of Peach Tranquility, add half hot water and half steamed lemonade, add a little honey for its antimicrobial effects, mix with a pump of peppermint.

More the smoothie-type than the caffeine-type? We’ve got a delicious smoothie you’re sure to love. Try the Starbucks Very Berry-licious Smoothie. This smoothie mixes milk, strawberry juice, berries, oranges, and bananas to make a fruity, healthy concoction. Sounds like a great alternative to the high calories in the frappuccinos without sacrificing taste.

The Small Size Surprise

As our last tip from the Starbucks secret menu, we’re sharing a somewhat obscure, yet informative fact; Starbucks lets you order different sizes. Yep, you’re not limited to the Tall (come on, we all know it’s a small), Grande, Venti, and Trenta sizing. Instead, Starbucks doesn’t advertise this, but they do allow it, you can order a ‘Mini’ frappuccino for the perfect bite-size taste of the delicious whipped treat. For drinks, you can order a size called the ‘Short’. The ‘Short’ size is a bit smaller than the ‘Tall’ and is accordingly less expensive. Try these smaller sizes for a days when you’re wanting a sip of coffee not the whole pot!
